Biblical Approach

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16, King James Version). TORCH Teen Center’s foundational operation is set on these Scripture verses. Christ is the main reason and hope for the furtherance of the center’s existence. The staff, above all, will live and serve as lights for Christ and lead and teach young people to do the same. Its main priority and goal is to share the love of Christ with the teenagers who seek to be a part of TTC. Second, it will strive to have an outreach to see lives changed for the glory of God and the furtherance of His Kingdom. 

The world often is a lonely, dark place. More times than not, teens are impacted most by the feelings of hopelessness and deprivation of love. TORCH Teen Center has set out to be a haven for these individuals. It is a place of both hope and love-a place that offers compassion and understanding.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” (1 John 4:7, King James Version). 

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11, King James Version)

“And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.” (Matthew 14:14, King James Version.)

Weekly, the center will offer nightly Bible studies for teens to attend on a voluntary basis. These Bible studies will focus primarily on displaying the heart of Christ: people. They will teach teenagers how to conquer life and live joyously through the Word of God. These studies will provide a love, hope, and compassion to a generation so greatly longing for them. This is the heartbeat of TORCH Teen Center and its staff.
