Our Mission
Torch Teen Center is a place to learn, connect, and grow. Designed as an after school & summer program, the Torch Teen Center focuses on teens from ages 13-19. It will be a clean environment where teens have the ability to learn from the programs we have to offer: tutoring, Bible classes, homework assistance, life skills understanding, and so much more. This will be a great environment to connect with friends and have time to hangout in the game room, play basketball, study together, or go get a treat from the snack bar. With this teen program, we desire that those who attend will leave with some sort of positive growth in their life that will contribute to making their life count for something!
So many teens have been introduced to things in their environment that will not benefit their life. Drugs can be traced throughout our school systems. Suicide is seen as a way out of a horrific life. Depression is at an all-time high. Many teens are left alone after school hours to find something to do. That is just scratching the surface of this situation. The statistics are too high for us to not sit back and neglect the lives of teen-agers. We see the struggle within the lives of teens. TORCH Teen Center wants to do something about it.
We desire to give mental, physical, and spiritual aid to teens needing help in their life, or just give preventative maintenance to those who haven’t reached that point. We do not intend to be a child-care or babysitting facility. Our goal is to provide a place for the teens to come, open up, and participate in the programs, games, and events that we will have planned. We want to be seen as a beacon in the eyes of the community to help the lives of people!
We need your help! Without the support of our own community, we could not make this mission possible. We are asking you to prayerfully consider supporting our outreach program to change the lives of teens in our community. We do not plan to stop here. It is our desire to begin here and branch out further into more surrounding communities across our area. We want to make a difference in our community through the lives of teenagers. Will you help us?
